About Allentown, PA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, Allentown is a growing community with about 118,000 residents. It is the fastest growing city in the state and the third most populous. Allentown was founded along the Lehigh River and is a quick 50 mile drive from Philadelphia. Likewise, New York City and Harrisburg – the state capital – are only about 90 miles away.

Allentown is a great place to both live in and to work. There are two four-year colleges found here – Muhlenberg College and Cedar Crest College. Jobs are plentiful in the community, with Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network serving as the largest employer. Several large companies also base their corporate headquarters in Allentown, including PPL and Air Products & Chemicals.

As a major cultural center in Pennsylvania, there are plenty of things to see or do in Allentown. The Allentown Symphony Orchestra hosts concerts at the Allentown Symphony Hall, and the Allentown Art Museum houses over 13,000 pieces of art. Sports fans have several options in the community, including a visit to Coca Cola Park to check out a Lehigh Valley IronPigs game. The community also puts on a variety of festivals and events throughout the year, including the Mayfair Festival of the Arts, the Great Allentown Fair, and the Collegiate Marching Band Festival.

Allentown is known for its humid continental weather conditions, although the community also borders a humid subtropical zone. The area experiences four different seasons, so residents will want to invest in both home heating and cooling systems. A gas or electric furnace is a necessity when weather conditions drop below freezing in the winter, especially since the area also receives an average of 32 inches of snow. About six months later, residents will rely on their central air conditioners to keep indoor temperatures cool, as the hot and humid season often sees temperatures that surpass 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
